Wordle, a game of luck and skill
Created by a techie to entertain
his partner during the pandemic
Had no idea the height it will attain
It took off once he added spoiler-free
way to share with friends and family
The game then went viral globally
Became a must to be played daily
Game’s simplicity and brevity
Make it irresistible to ignore
Doesn’t ask much other than patience
Have to wait till tomorrow for encore
Everyone plays the same game
North, South, East or West
One word, five letters, six tries
Race to see who does the best
New York Times came calling
To make a deal to buy the rights
made it impossible to say no
Large payout was not in his sights!
