Story untold – a poem by Aman Deep

Deep among the meadows,
and among the skies,
A mahogany tree rose,
standing still, without any lies,
it told me a story of days old.

As I trekked the wide paths,
and narrow streams,
far from mud houses and roofs thatched,
I reached wildernesses to its extremes,
there stood a mahogany a treat to behold.

As I sat beneath the tree,
In the shadow of fallen leaves,
among the dried twigs prepared free,
A light wind blew touching my sleeves,
I fell asleep and heard the untold.

The mahogany narrated two friends,
who played amongst the bushes,
and came together till the story ends,
those were happy days without any rushes,
The time flew and story unfolds.

Mahogany went forward with the story,
of fine bright days and lurking nights,
expressing exaggerated love to its glory,
narrating sweet dreams under moonlights,
I was alert and tree spoke in tune so bold.

Mahogany then sounded low,
as it began to reveal the end so sad,
the girl moved in another arms,
The story messed up and dreams turned bad,
I woke up unheeding the ending so cold.

I shrugged my shoulders hard,
and felt the warm letter inside,
then walked off the place apart,
thinking of the memories of daisy aside,
and feeling the letter with story untold…….
