From Derek Chauvin’s defense attorneys
It would be an understatement to say that we are disappointed by the guilty verdict. We had hoped that we would be able to get at least one juror to cast doubt on prosecution’s narrative. Oh well, we gave it our best shot. Life goes on!
The burden of proof rests on the shoulder of the prosecutor
All we need to do is to plant seeds of doubts in mind of one juror
Prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt
Creating doubts in jurors’ minds is what we are all about
Our defense strategy is “time tested” and hugely successful
It is called “angry scary black man” defense – rather simple
Only one juror doesn’t have to buy prosecution’s argument
Our job is to help that juror and cloud his/her judgment
George Floyd died not because of Derek Chauvin’s actions
Rather, drugs and heart-related pre-existing medical conditions
The big angry scary black man had to be restrained
Derek Chauvin did exactly and lawfully as he was trained
George Floyd too is on trial for his flawed character
For his death, poor health and drugs is the primary factor
Laws are designed to protect police; they lay their lives on the line
They defend liberty and freedom from people hellbent to undermine
So we ask you, the jurors, to not find Derek Chauvin guilty
To find him guilty for doing his job will be a travesty!
