Joe, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you
for winning the presidency in your 3^rd try
We have worked in the Senate as peers
Hopefully, going forward, I could still be your ally

While you hold the highest office in the land,
as the Senate majority leader, I am still the Kingmaker
As my domain, I control the Senate floor like a hawk
If you give me due respect, I can also be a facilitator

You already know, all your nominations have to
go through the Senate for confirmation
Be they cabinet secretaries or federal judges
going around me, will only lead to your frustration

Nancy Pelosi knows quite well how I operate
We will continue to work together as before
She can keep sending me bills after bills
If I don’t like them, I won’t bring them to the floor

Forget about your pie in the sky ideas
including Medicare for All, Green New Deal,
State & Local govt bail out, Tuition free education
To my legislative taste, they have zero appeal

Send me centrist candidates for confirmation,
Do not give in to your party’s extreme urges
This applies to all executive appointments
And, most especially, to federal judges

I want us to succeed in solving our country’s problems
But, the solutions must be mutually acceptable
If we work together and reach agreement on principles
I promise, you’ll find no problem is unsurmountable

How we work together during the first 90 days
Will be a good test of our relationship
You purportedly have the most difficult job
But, you are not alone, it is a joint stewardship.

Welcome aboard, my old friend.

I know Georgia’s two Senate seats will have run-offs in January 2021.
I don’t expect the outcomes there to affect the Republican majority.
