You needed to be an advocate
for Covid-19 vaccination
instead, you chose to equivocate

Where is the leadership,
just when it is badly needed?
You are a role model to millions,
your voice & actions are heeded

Why are you not promoting vaccination?
What are you afraid of – blowback?
Blowback from whom – Trumpites?
People who are nothing but quack!

If Black Lives Matter to you, then
all human lives should matter to you
You have the power to save lives
Promote what science says is true

Leaders speak the truth, always
No matter how bitter or painful
They don’t obfuscate the message
They remain stoic yet graceful

Fight against Covid is not a skirmish
It is a full-fledged long lasting war
For advocacy of vaccination, take cues from
one of the greats – Kareem Abdul Jabbar

Covid has killed more Black people
than their share of population
Encourage them to get vaccinated NOW
There is little room for vacillation

You still have time to redeem yourself
Come out forcefully for the vaccination
Grab hold of social media megaphone
Speak the truth and exhort the nation.

I felt like it was best suited for not only me but for my family and my friends.”
