We welcome you with open arms
We hope you’d bring normalcy in our lives
& restore freedom in all its forms.

2020 was worse than a nightmare
It proved to be a quagmire
Humanity suffered unmeasurable pain
All of us are glad to see it expire

Transition from 2020 happened in blink of an eye
But for human kind, the change was momentous
Coronavirus clearly had an upper hand in 2020
2021 not so; vaccine will prove to be pernicious

2021 ‘s here, let’s change the narrative
Now is the time to assume a positive outlook
Let’s not look back to the wretched 2020
It belongs to the pages of history book

Anticipation for 2021 was palpable, like
– season’s 1st snowfall for skiers
– birth of a new born baby
– first bloom in spring after dep freeze
– premier of a superhero movie

– March madness for college hoops fans
– India Pakistan cricket series
– start of a new season in pro-sports
– futball world cup with all its glories

– launch of a true Tesla compact crossover
– launch of a new iPhone model
– launch of a new version of video game
– launch of a new game console  model

2021 knows hopes of 7 billion of us
are resting on his broad shoulders
We’d like to assure him, he is not alone;
all of us are invested as stakeholders

2021 is promising to be a great year
First and foremost – the end of Covid-19
Close second is White House “cleansing”
Don’t forget Olympics and thrills umpteen

We will march ahead step in step
no wavering in our determination
to make 2021* the most memorable
year of our present  generation.
